Hello Everyone! :D

I know I know, it's been forever since I last updated!! Well, I must say it was with good reason. Not only am I already a mother to a ridiculously hyper toddler while balancing motherhood and comic work, but I also started up Womanthology late last year, which ended up a bigger deal than I could have ever expected and required over a year of my time.

Early this year I also started feeling really bad, health-wise.  June of this year I ended up in the ER at the hospital with Sepsis, Septic Shock, a Kidney Infection, Pneumonia, and a slew of other problems. Apparently the load of stress I'd been managing was also compromising my health defenses. I almost passed away, but after a week in the hospital they finally gave me the all clear. Recovery has been really slow, so I had to take time away from work for a couple months and focus on my kids and health.

Besides feeling ridiculously grateful for still being here, especially for my children, I also am beginning to feel renewed in my ambitions. I realized awhile back that if I had a choice, I'd ONLY work on projects I had passion for, because that is when I feel truly happy. So my focus, career-wise, is to make that happen as much as possible.

Before Womanthology began I REALLY wanted to do a Peter Pan graphic novel adaptation, but that got put on hold for awhile so I could take care of Womanthology. Now that Womanthology's Kickstarter is almost all taken care of, I'm finally ready to move on to Peter Pan, and other projects I hold passion for.

Anyway, that is where the last 2 years went! :D I'm back though, and hopefully will update more often. Also, I turn 30 this month.... WTH??? 0_o

Hope everyone is doing wonderful! You can read more about stuff here on my blog [link]

EDIT 9/23: This is still going on! It's run late becasue we had to finish the final chapter on a short deadline. I'm getting to the final picking of winners int he next few days. So if you've got one, send it to me, or post it on Digital Webbing! Thanks! :)
Hi! I'm penciling The Last Unicorn comic through IDW. The 6 issues are being collected into a Graphic Novel very soon, & my editor asked me to gather some great LU artwork to be printed in it. I left 2 spots free for what I hope will be a fun contest. The winners will be printed in The Last Unicorn graphic novel, & will also be seen by Peter Beagle (creator of LU) himself!

It's split up into two categories, 16 and under & over 16.

Over 16- create artwork based on the novel or comic book versions ( NOT THE MOVIE VERSIONS!)  of any characters, or events. Final must be in color & print ready. You can have collaborators to help you ink/color.

Under 16 - create artwork based on the novel or comic book version (NOT THE MOVIE VERSIONS!). You can submit just pencils if you want. Winner will get their work professionally inked & colored by my husband Ray Dillon (who's working on the book with me) to get it ready for print. We wanted to have this category to give younger people a chance to be published.

I must stress to please make sure it's print ready in size. So scan your work in at 300dpi resolution, & make sure it's colored at the same large size.  Finished size should be around 6.75 inches by 10.5 inches. Color should be CMYK mode. I'd hate to see beautiful art that can't be printed!

To enter please sign up at these forums [link], or just send it to me on here as they're having trouble with activating new accounts right now. If you are having trouble, please contact Kel at DWPresents@gmail.com

PHEW that was long! :D I hope to see some awesome art! Let me know if you have questions.

My pal Diana reminded me I haven't updated my deviantart in FOREVER :D

Well, sorry to be gone so long, this last year went bazooka on me, but in a good way, but it made me fall behind on a zillion things again!

WARNING: Long ramble ahead!

So anyway, shortly after my last journal entry in March, I found out I was pregnant! WOO! So happy and excited! We've since found out it's a boy, and as of RIGHT NOW he's due any minute! :D So yeah, that was Crazly Life Thing #1.

Crazy Life Thing #2! My then fiancee and I decided San Diego Comic Con '09 was the PERFECT place to finally get married as that's where we met in '05. So we did! It was wonderful. We got married on one of the balcony's at the con center. It was beautiful!

Crazy Life Thing #3! We had been in the process of trying to buy a home in Kansas all year. We were renting the house until our credit (which was destroyed by hackers the year before) recovered enough for a loan. The deadline was October, and soon after returning home from the honeymoon we were made aware they wanted triple down what they said they originally needed for us to get the loan. Long story short, we lost the house, and we had to move FAST!

Crazy Life Thing #4! So we had 3 weeks to decide what to do. And we had so far previously been preparing to settle down for a loooong time with the baby. So it was a huge upheaval for us. So we figured our options were- Stay in Kansas and rent, or take a wild chance and move somewhere ENTIRELY different, somewhere we've always wanted to live.

So we chose Portland, Maine!! :D :D :D It seemed perfect for us. On the east coast( a place both of us wanted to try living) very artsy, has lots of snow... so many things. We did everything online, got a great rental, found the perfect area, and went for it. Never been there before, but we knew we didn't want to be in Kansas anymore.

Long story short, it's amazing here in Portland, ME. It was definitely the right choice. We've been here almost 2 months now, and almost settled. It's amazing how things just work out sometimes. We thought we were losing our home, but it turned out WAAAAY better than we ever thought it could!

SO yeah, that's what's been going on! There just hasn't been any room to breath this last year. Sorry for the long ramble, but I figured I should let everyone know where I've been.

As far as work goes, I've been doing as much as I can. I'm right now working on a 6 issue mini-series for IDW of the comic book version of THE LAST UNICORN!!! Talk about a dream come true!! Sonic was definitely a dream come true to draw, but this is on a whole other level for me. I watched that cartoon since the day I was born, and it's influenced my life in many ways. So I'm super excited to be chosen to illustrate the comic :D Hope I can do alright!

Also check out Sonic #207 for an Iron Queen short story I pencilled! That was fun! I still have 4 of the original 5 pages for sale (they are inked by Terry Austin) if anyone is interested. I'll sell them for $50 a page.

Oh! And soon check out Jennifer Love Hewitt's: Music Box #4 (IDW) for another story pencilled by me, colored by my wonderful husband Ray Dillon.

Okey dokey!! Guess that's all! Again sorry for being absent, I'll try to be more consistent! But I guess with the baby coming, I can only try, lol!

Thanks for everyone's support, and have a great day!

Hi!

Just a quickie to try and keep updating.

Thanks for all the support from everyone for my first Sonic the Hedgehog issue! I'm pretty excited to see how it ends up looking! It was such a big transition for me from drawing people to sonic characters, and there was a learning curve for me for a couple reasons, but hopefully I didn't make too many mistakes and I hope the Sonic Readers do enjoy it :D

I've gotten MANY MANY inquiries as to whether or not I'm replacing Tracy Yardley ( did I ever mention how much I LOVE his work???) or if I'm drawing Sonic Universe or if I'm here to stay for Sonic.  So far I have not heard of anymore issues for me to illustrate, so I am not sure of anything yet. But I will be sure to update it anything else develops.

Otherwise, for the last couple months I've been focused on finishing Pono Loa [link] and TRYING to finish up the last of my commissions. I am probably never going to take commissions again openly soon, as I really want to focus on comic work this year. But if you still would like to see about a commission and don't mind a possible wait, lease contact the wonderful people at comicarthouse [link] to find out about it :D

As for the Harry Potter project I am dying to start, I have finally pin-pointed where I want to begin story wise :D So hopefully I can spit a page or two soon!! ( Harry Potter woo!)

In other news, my son Tycen turns 6 on Feb. 17th!! My big fella!  Also my cats have now totally dominated my 60 pound dog, and can make him sit just by looking at him. Also my finacee Ray is awesome. Hmmm, what else? Oh, I just ate a sandwich the size of my leg today and it was amazing.

That is all! Hope to update soon with more Sonic #198 ages!

EDIT:  I GOTTA CUT COMMISSIONS OFF NOW! THANKS GUYS! :D:D:D

Hi guys!

First off, thank you so much for all the support about working on the Sonic Comic! I cannot explain how happy I am about it. I have completed my first issue, and just cannot wait to do more! I hope the readers are happy with it. I learned A LOT with drawing this issue, so I hope to do even better with the next.

Anyway, I've been asked many times about doing original Sonic art for people, I haven't been able to reply as I've been swamped lately, so here goes:

I am taking orders for a very very few Sonic commissions for the next few days only. I am not accepting general commissions for anything other than Sonic at the moment ( sorry!! :( ) ,  I am doing this because I LOVE Sonic and I love everyone who loves Sonic with me :D

The sale is:

Color sketch card of one character $ 25

9 x 12 color bristol of one character $55 ( no background details, just character!)

This includes shipping. Also due to my work load I won't be able to start  until January. Any known Sonic character or fan made Sonic character ( as long as there is something drawn by you to go by first ) is just fine! I also prefer PayPal, but if you prefer another, let me know!

Please SEND ME A NOTE if interested! And Happy Holidays! :D :D :D

- We got a house!

- I get to draw Sonic the Hedgehog for Archie!

- I had to give up Diet Coke because it's bad for me ( poop :( )

- My cats have gone mentally insane and keep attacking my dog for no reason

- My son Tycen is the most handsome little man on the Earth

Well, I'll be back soon! :D Gotta get back to work!

Well, I keep the wait on the update down to 5 months only this time...good eh??

Well stuff's been abrewin' in that time. Good news, I recently finished up the IDW mini-series Rogue Angel. It was a fun, tough learning process. It was my first real book I've pencilled, I can't even start listing all I've learned about comics, and how much I still really need to learn. Just wish me the luck I need to keep improving!

I have another book I'm now finishing work on that been waiting patiently for me to finish, so I will have more on that next time.

I did recently stop doing sketch card sets for the last 6 months or so, but I'm thinking of taking on a few more sets. Just when I thought I was done, they keep coming back! :p

As for the bad, I recently went through a painful miscarriage at 10 weeks. It was a very bad experience, made even tougher by meeting deadlines throughout it. But that's life I guess. It's been a few weeks now and things are looking brighter again.

I guess that's pretty much it :) Oh, and I have tables at the Heroes Con in Charlotte ( June) and the San Diego Comic Con (July) so please look for me and say hi!

Okay, thanks for reading guys :)

Wow, I haven't updated since April??? SHEESH!!

Well, I've been up to all kinds of stuff, I don't know where to start so I'll just start blathering and hope it goes somewhere :D

Well, I went to Heroes and SDCC, and had an amazing time at both. I met some amazing people, and I'm looking forward to the cons at the beginning of the year ( MegaCon and NYCC).

I'm now working on a monthly book for IDW called Rogue Angel ( from the Gold Eagle novel series by Alex Archer). It's  a lot of fun, and I can't wait to show more of what we've done for it. I think it's coming out sometime in February.

I guess I'm sort of getting out of sketch cards for awhile, I still love doing the comic sets, but reall comics is my first love. I'm doinga LOTR set but that may be it for awhile. I LOVE sketch cards, but hey just take up so much time!

Oh, I'm also working on an awesome book called Pono-Loa, written by Stephen Smirl ( aka: the awesomest/nicest guy in the UNIVERSE!) It's a book set in a magical polynesian setting. I'll show something when I get more time.

On the home from we just recovered from not one, not two, but THREE hacker/ bank error attacks that left us penniless for a total of 3 months this year ( yeah... it took that long to fix it all). I just don't understand why people just take what they want. :( Oh well, all's better now.

Okay, if I don't stop now I'll just continue until make absolute no sense, so I'll just get back to work now :D

Thanks for everything, guys!!

Just got back from Chicago from a Card convention. That was really fun, I've never been to the windy city before. It was also my first table. It was madness. How can people do this ALL the time???

Well, okay, it WAS really fun too. Just crazy :D

After the con, we went to the big city to enjoy the bee-yoot-iful city and some deep dish pizza :D My son Tycen enjoyed it the most, especially riding the trains!

Hi again!

Sorry it took so long to get back about New York, it was SO much fun! :D

The convention was awesome, I got to meet some very neat people, and I got to sit a few feet away from Stephen King! How cool! He really is a neat guy, very down to earth.  Also got to go to the Marvel party, and meet even more people ( sorry, just too many to list) It was really nice talking with Ryan Stegman,  and fellow sketch artists Rich Mollinelli, Jeff Chandler, Jim Kyle, and yeah, too many to list definatly.

Spent the rest of the time in NY looking around. We had an awesome tour of the DC main offices by the licensing manager Kevin Kiniry. We're working on the upcoming DC sketch card set, so he was nice enough to give us a few hours of his time to show us around! It really was amazing. The floor he works on is built to look like Gotham city, and another floor is Metropolis. HOW COOL is that??

Kevin is an amazing, nice person, and I hope to talk to him soon :) Thanks Kevin!

Here's a few pics from NY. Not too many because I'm too lazy to resize and upload them all, lol!

Another great thing was being able to be in NY the first time with some of my best friends. We had a BLAST. Here's video my friend Base Basvic made. I'm in there too, if you look for me. :D He got a PussayCat Dolls song stuck in his head one day and decided to do this....

On another note, I'm starting ( okay attempting ) to get a blog going. You can go here for hopefully everyday rambling, art, and commissions info [link]

I still have yet to post so please be patient!

Workwise, I'm workong on the new DC Universe: Legacy set. They're a lot of fun.  I hope to post soon!

Still working on Blood and Roses, as well as the mystery comic project.  So yep, busy as a bee!

Hope everyone is doing awesome! Have a great day! :D
